HEI Club & Holiday Camps – What They Do and What They Offer

HEI Schools Bangkok is an international preschool in Bangkok, Thailand that follows the Finnish early childhood education philosophy and provides holistic learning experiences for young children. In addition to regular education, HEI runs a programme called HEI Club and seasonal holiday camps that extend learning beyond the classroom. What HEI Club Includes HEI Club encompasses special interest activities and extra-curricular programmes designed to nurture children’s creativity, curiosity and developmental skills. One highlighted aspect of HEI Club is the HEI Music Club, which is intended for families to enjoy together:

  • HEI Music Club is a playful, enriching programme where children and their parent or caregiver participate together in music exploration.
  • Each session focuses on sounds, rhythms and instruments, and is structured to support gross motor, language and social skill development in a calm and supportive environment.
  • The Music Club runs every Saturday during the school term and serves children in age groups from around 10 months up to about 3 years (e.g., 10 months – 2 years and 2 – 3 years).
This club strengthens early learning through creative engagement and reinforces bonding between children and their caregivers.

HEI Seasonal Holiday Camps

At HEI Schools Bangkok, the holiday camp component of HEI Club offers themed camps during major school break periods. Specifically, HEI hosts two seasonal camp types each year:

  • Winter Camp: A one-week holiday camp held in December during the festive season.
  • Summer Camp: A longer seasonal camp spanning five fun-filled weeks in July and August during the long summer break.
These camps are open to **both HEI enrolled students and non-HEI students** so families outside the school community can also participate.

The camps adopt the school’s phenomenon-based learning approach, inspired by Finnish early childhood education. They are designed to foster creativity, curiosity and a genuine love of learning by allowing children to explore through a variety of engaging, hands-on activities. Camp activities are diverse and include experiences such as:

  • Sports and physical play
  • Arts and creative projects
  • Science experiments and discovery tasks
  • Cultural studies and exploratory learning
Each day brings new opportunities for growth and adventure, with dedicated HEI teachers guiding the children through the programmes.

Age Groups and Participation

While HEI Schools Bangkok primarily serves early childhood groups (typically children from around 1.5 years to 6 years in its regular curriculum), the holiday camps are typically suited to young children within the broader early childhood age range. Camps are structured with age-appropriate activities that match the developmental needs of participants during the holiday period.

Learning Philosophy and Camp Experience

HEI’s holiday camps and club activities reflect the school’s foundation in Finnish national early childhood education, which emphasises play-based, holistic learning where children explore and make meaning through experience. This learning philosophy is integrated into the design of holiday camps to ensure that activities encourage:

  • Creativity and imagination
  • Physical engagement and coordination
  • Problem-solving and discovery
  • Social interaction and confidence building
By using phenomenon-based and play-oriented approaches, the camps help children see connections between learning and everyday life, making holiday experiences both educational and fun.
